Hip Hop Jam

Ottawa’s only Hip Hop Jam session is coming to Red Bird, and will be a strong addition to our monthly music series. 

Every month:

Will be featuring a different Emcee that will host the show with our house Emcee Nick Pouponneau (of Zoo Legacy). Backed with a full live band Andrew and The Capital Syndicate, these showcases are bound to instil a deep love and connection to the incredible Hip Hop scene that we carry in the Capital city!

February's Feature:
AKoul as a a rapper from Gatineau Quebec his music is part of the thriving canadien hip-hop landscape, which has been recognized for its significant influence in the global music industry. Akoul’s latest hip-hop influence can be seen in his recent releases, his EP « Misunderstood » & album "ForeverTheSame2.0". In the world of hip-hop and rap, there are those who are constantly pushing the genre forward, and those who are able to connect with the public on a deeper level. It’s the combination of these two elements that make for truly memorable and impactful music.
This is something that Gatineau, Quebec based artist Akoul is able to highlight on the singles “Come and Go”, “Reasons”, "G’z party", "Can’t lie", "Different" & many more.

Important Notes:

1. Every Instrument will be provided by the house.
2. Access to stage is a first-come, first-serve process.
3. The amount of instruments and microphones present on the stage will determine how many can stay on the stage at one time.
4. We will have the “RED BIRD PICK” of the night. This pick will be chosen by staff at Red Bird and will encourage one participant of the night to close the show with another performance. 
5. There will be opportunities to network and possibly be featured in future events as a featured emcee or instrumentalist.
