San Diego Hula Academy is thrilled to return to The Grand Ritz Theater for their 6th Annual Hoʻike event.

Under the direction of Kumu Hula Kawena Garuba, San Diego Hula Academy is pleased to present “He Lei Hiwahiwa” – the cherished lei.

Lei are symbols of love, friendship, and affection, conveying the connections and celebrations of those we honor. As flowers are woven into the fabric of Hawaiian life, many of the mele (songs) chosen for this Hoʻike fuse the threads of poetry and music into stories of deep appreciation and reflection. We hope you will join us to celebrate the colorful tapestry of Polynesian culture highlighting the essence of aloha and interconnectedness.
