Saturday, September 30 at 7 PM
The internationally acclaimed musicians of Eliot Quartett will be performing at HCA Dance Theatre on September 30, 2023 at 7.00 pm. A quartet of multinational musicians, the Eliott Quartett has won many national and international awards including prizes at the Mozart International Competition in Salzburg, Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition, International Karol Szymanowski competition in Katowice and the Prize of the German Music Competition. Established in Frankfurt, Germany, they are a recognized name in renowned music festivals across the globe and Hamilton’s own HCA Dance Theatre is honoured to be presenting them at their PASS (Performing Arts Sunday Series) this month. In fact, HCA Dance Theatre opens their new season with the musical charm of the Eliot Quartett.
Meet the musicians:
Maryana Osipova has made a name for herself winning prizes at many international competitions such as the Yankelevich Violin Competition, London International Chamber Music Competition and more.
Alexander Sachs who hails from BC, Canada is a recipient of the coveted Neumeyer Consort Scholarship for Baroque music and holds a teaching position at the Kronberg Academy.
Dmitry Hahalin plays the viola and is also a recipient of the Neumeyer Consort scholarship. Among his many accolades, Dmitry counts the first prize at the 2010 S. Vainiunas Competition in Latvia.
Michael Preuß favours the Violoncello and like the other members of his group, has gathered multiple awards including the first prize at the “HMT Interdisziplinär“ at the HMT Rostock.
These eminent musicians promise an evening of enchanting musical performances featuring pieces by two German composers of the Romantic era, punctuated by the edginess of Shostakovich’s music from 20th century Russia. “Looking forward to yet another successful season where we bring meaningful and entertaining artistic programs to our beloved city of Hamilton”, said Vitek Wincza, Artistic / Executive Director of HCA Dance Theatre, Hamilton.
