Canadian Drummer/Singer/Songwriter Hattie continues to crawl out of hibernation with their second single of 2021, ‘Losers’, a driving dark-pop track that laments over a relationship doomed to fail, but too good to give up. Joined by Edmonton based producer Kurtis Schultz, the song came to life after Hattie’s last fizzled relationship left him heartbroken and in need of a tune for their upcoming recording session. Between the Clash-lite guitars and the atmosphere of synth chimes there’s a mutual acceptance of fate, that the song is about the sad part at the end of the movie everyone knew was coming.

Hattie has also been busy on his phone as of late, live streaming his odd-ball workout show, #GOTHGYM, regularly from his dark and dimly lit home gym while he interviews guests and musicians from across the prairies on his Instagram (@hattie_tv). His other social media endeavour is a new series of short videos he calls #songwritertips, which are absurdist memes about the silliness and outrageousness of finding lyrical inspiration.
