Description

The Guelph Film Festival is back and (mostly) online for 2021.

This year our line-up has expanded to more than 30 ground-breaking documentaries from Guelph, Canada, and around the world. The festival will run for 30 days starting November 5th at 12:01am to December 5th at 11:59pm.

Each Friday of the festival, a new collection of three feature documentaries will be available to view for that week (Friday-Thursday). All short documentaries will be available for the duration of the 30-day festival. The festival will wrap with a Last Chance Weekend, allowing you to catch up on what you missed and rewatch what you loved!

The Guelph Film Festival is available to anyone in Canada!

Each pass, offered on a sliding scale from $35 to $75 ($200+ value), will give you On-Demand access to our online platform for the duration of the festival. You will also have access to our 4 exclusive live streaming spotlight events featuring panel discussions with exciting guests from around the world delving into the social and environmental justice issues highlighted by the films.

The Guelph Film Festival Online 2021 On-Demand platform will look and feel very much like any other online film-watching platform (such as Netflix or Crave).

PLEASE NOTE: in-person events are NOT included with your festival pass. These events are ticketed separately.

We will adhere to all public health guidelines in place at the time of the event. Proof of vaccination will be required.

As one of the oldest documentary film festivals in the world, the Guelph Film Festival is committed to presenting films that embody and explore our commitment to social justice, our environment, and community building. We believe documentary film can be a catalyst for conversations about change in a time of crisis, as well as being an opportunity to learn and uplift.

Our programming always includes 50% Canadian films, 50% films with female/female-identifying directors, and 50% films with diverse directors (BIPOC/LGBTQ2A+/Deaf and/or Disabled). These are not just targets, they are our rules. We are proud to provide a platform for such a diverse array of voices.
