Green Living Workshop: Art & Abundance: Supporting our Pollinators

Pollinators facilitate most plant reproduction, making them the backbone of our ecosystems. In celebration of pollinator week, join Katrina, an Assistant Curator from the Art Gallery, and our Conservation Educators in giving thanks to these invaluable creatures in a multi-activity art workshop.

Did you know that pollinators such as bees and butterflies need shallow water sources in order to drink water without risking falling in? Help hydrate our hard-working pollinators by building a sea-shell watering station for your garden.

Recreate one of our lovely native butterflies such as the Monarch Butterfly or the Canadian Tiger Swallowtail using paint and leaves, or let your creativity lead you!

Towards the end of our session, we will be planting pollinator friendly native flower seeds to take home. By planting pollinator friendly plants and setting up a hydration station, not only will you be supporting our essential friends, but you'll attract more of them to your garden, enhancing the health of its ecosystem.
