GIRAF21 FEATURE: SANATORIUM UNDER THE SIGN OF THE HOURGLASS

 

The latest from the Quay Brothers, this hybrid live-action/animation feature is based on the 1937 novel by Bruno Schulz. 

Beginning with a ghostly train ride to the titular sanitorium, the protagonist Jozef discovers that the sanitorium exists at the intersections of dimensions, where time has shifted and the very fabric of reality is distorted. Mysterious, dream-like and Kafka-esque, this film takes audiences on a surreal voyage into the subconscious.
