Franz & Marie is a haunting new musical inspired by Georg Büchner’s groundbreaking play Woyzeck.

Combining raw indie folk music with an emotionally charged story, this powerful production explores love, trauma, poverty, and survival through the eyes of two people struggling to hold onto each other.

Set against a bleak world inspired by late 19th-century European folklore, Franz returns from the front line haunted by disturbing visions and the lasting effects of war. Clinging to his love for Marie and their young child, he finds himself increasingly trapped by poverty, prejudice, and psychological torment. As their hopes for a better future begin to disappear, the couple are pushed towards a devastating fate.
