Description
Social Collective is proud to announce a very special (and timely) screening of “Fractured Land”, and (Skype) interview with Indigenous leader and lawyer Caleb Behn.
+++++
Fractured Land was filmed in 2015 and follows a young Dene lawyer, Caleb Behn for four years; through law school, sharing knowledge with other Indigenous peoples, dealing with community divisions, and building a movement.
Following the screening we’ll have an opportunity to catch up with Caleb to talk about what’s happened since 2015.
What are the challenges surrounding fracking and LNG for communities in BC? What’s changed for the communities since the film came out? What consequences does a decision to approve an LNG facility in Squamish have beyond our own community? Is it possible to find a middle way and how do we create dialogue, when talking about economic development and environmental protection in the same conversation?
Caleb will be Skyping in from Ontario to answer questions after the film. This is an event you do not want to miss.
