As the days get shorter & the nights longer, we’re gathering at Bloom for a night inspired by the strange little world that comes alive after sundown.

 

NIGHT FLORA is a themed Global Heat gathering centred around music, movement, visual art, creative expression and participation.

 

This isn’t a costume party with a strict dress code. The theme is an invitation to play with the space and bring your own interpretation. Come as night flora, strange fauna, something that grows in the shadows, something that only appears after dark, or don't dress up at all! Afterall, we are Night Creatures as we are 😈

 

Expect a night of global club sounds, dancing, live painting, interactive elements and a room designed to feel different from your average night out.

💮ABOUT GLOBAL HEAT💮

 

Global Heat Showcase is a grassroots music and arts series based in the Kootenays on unceded Sinixt territories, built around global sounds and underground music culture.

 

The sound moves across genres and borders: global bass, afro sounds, amapiano, gqom, afro house, baile funk, UK funky, jersey club, reggaeton, 140, garage, breaks and whatever else belongs in the mix. Global sound is always up for connotation, and we are always challenging the boundaries of what that means.

 

Global Heat is interested in the roots and movement of these sounds, while creating space for local DJs, artists and people who are doing things differently. It’s about bringing people together around good music and making room for creative expression, community and participation.

 

Our events are intentionally independent and community focused. We care about the people in the room, the artists behind the music, the cultures and histories connected to the sounds we play, and creating spaces where people can be inspired.

 

SUNDOWN: NIGHT FLORA continues that idea, but brings it into a different environment. One night, one room, one theme, and lots of room to interpret it your own way.
