Nicholas McGegan conducts festive music celebrating the 1748 signing of the peace treaty Aix-la-Chapelle between France and Britain with Jean-Phillipe Rameau's opéra-ballet Naïs and George Frideric Handel's Royal Fireworks Music. Local professional singers join members of the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus and the Orchestra in J.S. Bach's moving cantata about hope in faith amidst struggle with suffering.
