Important Terms, Conditions and Liability Notice

Please read carefully. By purchasing, receiving or using a ticket, the purchaser and attendee acknowledge and agree to the following conditions:

Ticket Policy

All ticket sales are final and non-refundable, except if the event is cancelled by the organizer and no replacement date or credit is offered. Tickets may not be resold for commercial gain. Tickets obtained through unauthorized sellers may be refused.

The purchaser is responsible for ensuring that every person for whom they purchase or distribute a ticket is informed of and accepts these terms.

Assumption of Risk and Release

Attendance at a large public event may involve risks, including slips, trips, falls, crowd movement, interaction with other attendees, temporary structures, decorations, lighting and sound effects, food and beverage consumption, allergic reactions, illness, personal injury, property damage or loss.

Each attendee voluntarily accepts and assumes the risks associated with entering, attending, participating in and leaving the event.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ticket purchasers and attendees release and hold harmless the Indian Society of Calgary, Genesis Centre, and their respective directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, performers, food providers, vendors, sponsors, representatives, agents, affiliates and successors—collectively, the “Released Parties”—from claims, demands, damages, losses, expenses or liabilities arising from or connected with attendance at the event.

This includes, to the fullest extent legally permitted, claims relating to personal injury, illness, food consumption, allergic reactions, property loss or damage, the conduct of other attendees or independent third parties, and the ordinary negligence of a Released Party.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Food, Allergies and Dietary Requirements

Dinner may be prepared or served by independent food-service providers. Although reasonable care may be taken, the organizer cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or prevent cross-contact with nuts, dairy, gluten, eggs, soy or other allergens.

Guests with allergies or dietary restrictions are responsible for making appropriate inquiries and determining whether any food is safe for them to consume. The organizer cannot guarantee that every dietary requirement will be accommodated.

Health and Medical Emergencies

Attendees are responsible for determining whether they are medically able to attend safely and for taking appropriate precautions regarding medical conditions, allergies, mobility requirements and other individual needs.

If an attendee becomes ill or injured, event personnel may contact emergency services. Any resulting medical, ambulance or related expenses remain the attendee’s responsibility.

Children and Supervision

Children must remain under the direct supervision of a parent, legal guardian or responsible adult at all times. The accompanying adult is responsible for the child’s conduct, safety and compliance with event and venue rules.

A person purchasing or obtaining a ticket for a minor confirms that they are the minor’s parent or legal guardian, or have authorization from the parent or legal guardian to accompany the minor.

Conduct and Venue Rules

Attendees must comply with applicable laws, Genesis Centre policies and reasonable instructions from event staff.

The organizer reserves the right to refuse entry or remove, without refund, anyone engaging in unsafe, disruptive, abusive, intoxicated, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate conduct.

Attendees are responsible for injury, damage, loss or expense caused by their own unlawful, reckless, negligent or intentional conduct. To the fullest extent permitted by law, attendees agree to indemnify the Released Parties against third-party claims arising from such conduct.

Personal Belongings

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Released Parties are not responsible for lost, stolen, misplaced or damaged items, including belongings left unattended in seating, dining, parking or other event areas.

Photography and Recording

Photography, video and audio recording will occur during the event. By attending, guests consent to being incidentally photographed or recorded and to the reasonable use of those images or recordings by the Indian Society of Calgary for promotional, archival, reporting and community-engagement purposes, without compensation.

Guests with concerns should notify the registration desk upon arrival. Reasonable efforts may be made to accommodate such requests; however, exclusion from crowd or background footage cannot be guaranteed.

Program and Event Changes

The event schedule, performances, artists, activities, seating arrangements, décor and menu are subject to change when reasonably necessary and without prior notice.

If the event is delayed, interrupted, postponed or cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organizer’s reasonable control—including severe weather, public emergency, government restrictions, venue closure, utility failure, labour disruption or performer unavailability—tickets will remain valid for a rescheduled date or other options will be communicated to ticket holders.

The organizer is not responsible for incidental expenses such as transportation, accommodation, parking, childcare or lost income.

Governing Law and Acceptance

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.

Purchasing, receiving, presenting or using a ticket confirms that the purchaser and attendee have read, understood and accepted the event terms, assumption of risk and release of liability stated above.
