Description
Join us for our next Food 4 Thought session - a free community meal and learning event designed to connect students with local resources and practical tools to navigate the affordability crisis.
This month’s theme is food security, and we’re thrilled to welcome Laura Dias, Interim Public Health Dietitian for Nanaimo, Ladysmith, and Gabriola Island. Laura will lead a session focused on how to eat well on a student budget, covering everything from smart grocery shopping and pantry planning to affordable protein choices, zero-waste tips, and navigating food resources in the community.
Whether you’re struggling to stock your fridge or just want to save a few bucks and eat better, this session is for you.
Come hungry - we’ll be serving a free hot meal (pulled pork mac and cheese buffet) while we learn!
Location: Royal Arbutus Room (R401), Upper Cafeteria (B300) - Registration required!
*Note: If registering after October 9th, dietary accommodations may not be guaranteed.
