Fiyin Obayan

Fiyin Obayan is a singer/songwriter who fuses the genres of jazz, gospel, and R&B music. Her first dose of professional performing arts training came from the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, British Columbia. There she performed in the musicals "Footloose","Crazy for You", and a solo "Daddy's Son" with the Victoria Symphony.

Upon finishing her certificate, Fiyin returned to Saskatoon to complete a major in marketing and a certificate in jazz music, in which she has had several opportunities to perform with the U of S jazz band during her time in college. Fiyin is CEO & founder of Okiki Consulting, which focuses on empowering entrepreneurs and business owners to tell their personal brand stories and company brand stories through video content.

Her favourite styles to listen to are gospel, jazz, folk, R&B, and neo-soul. In her music, you will hear influences of Mary Mary, Ella Fitzgerald, Nikki Yanofsky, Beyonce, Amber Mark, Relient k, Coldplay and Esperanza Spalding.

 

She is now a music mentor with SaskMusic and a board member with Sask Jazz Orchestra.
