The Live Agency Presents:
Ferraro
Ferraro (Vancouver) // https://www.facebook.com/ferraroband/
Creatures indeed. When it comes to brothers, none are more "brotherly" than the Ferraro brood. Though the name may be new to some ears - their dynastic legacy is not. They are descendants of The Cameron House (which is still in the family's hands) in Toronto, Canada. A venue with a well-earned reputation as the place to be seen, and to hear new music. Surrounded by the storied history, and witness to countless legendary performers - it was almost unavoidable they would band together to do the same. Cosmo, Tally and Gianni have no memory of when they started to play together. To them, it's always been so. However, they do recall the forceful recruitment of Tally, the youngest brother to sing - he unwillingly complied...and they've never looked back.
Looking back is a fitting way to describe their sound. It's 50's inspired and yet it’s inherently modern. They clash, bang and grit it out, with a melodic tone that is reminiscent of The Beatles and The Strokes. Their debut record, Losing Sleep, encompasses all those aspects and sticks in your head - it's catchy as hell. Guillermo Subauste engineered and mixed the 10 song album; with production credits shared between the band and Don Kerr (Rheostatics, Ron Sexsmith, Minotaurs). Joao Carvalho finished everything up with his mastering touch. The title track (also their first single) is a toe-tapping, finger-snapping, sing-along inducing ride - expect no less from the album. A lot of heart and soul went into this bad-boy.
Ferraro have come a long way since sneaking into bars and clubs, and playing with large X’s on their hands. The band has quickly built a local following including key showcases at NXNE and CMW, and are keen to embrace the travelling road and begin paving their way into the hearts of music enthusiast all over the world.
Redwhyn (Vancouver) // https://www.facebook.com/redwhyn/
Redwhyn is an up-and-coming three-piece alternative rock band from Northern BC. Founded by brothers Josh and Michael Hanson, the band has been playing shows around BC since the summer of 2016. They released their debut, self-titled album in November of 2017 on all major streaming platforms and are currently writing and recording their second album, expected to be released this winter.
Redwhyn’s music is a refreshing take on alternative rock, with traces of modern blues-rock and echoes of late progressive rock. You can expect to hear a range of influences including Biffy Clyro, Goo Goo Dolls, and early-days Coldplay. Redwhyn’s show boasts intricate riffs, haunting melodies, and soaring solos full of energy and crowd appeal. Original songs that have been borne out of both the bitter cold of British Columbia’s Central Interior and the endless rainfall of its Lower Mainland will grip concert goers and album listeners alike.
