Description

Far Gone is a powerful one-man play making its London debut at Brixton House, following a critically acclaimed national tour.

Written by and starring John Rwothomack, the play is inspired by his own near-abduction and tells the story of Okumu, a young boy whose life is torn apart when his village in Northern Uganda is attacked by the Lord’s Resistance Army.

Through poetic language, physical theatre, and moments of unexpected humour, the story charts Okumu’s journey from childhood innocence to survival in the shadow of conflict. Far Gone explores identity, family, and resilience in the face of violence, offering an intimate and deeply human perspective on the lasting impact of war.
