Two visionary artists at the outer edges of jazz and contemporary music—percussionist/composer John Hollenbeck and pianist/composer Eve Risser—unite for the premiere of their improvised duo, a long-awaited meeting of restless musical minds. The seeds of their collaboration were planted in 2010 with the Orchestre National de Jazz's Shut Up and Dance project, where Risser brought her boundless energy as a pianist and improviser to Hollenbeck’s genre-defying compositions. Now, years later, they step into shared sonic territory, drawing from their deep individual vocabularies to craft something wholly new in real time. Expect tactile soundscapes, mischievous interplay, and a poetic dance between form and freedom—two distinct voices finding uncommon harmony in the unpredictable.
