Vancouver painter Doreen Finnegan presents ENIGMA,  a collection of works born from an unconscious exploration of our fractured, volatile reality.

Drawing on the abstract expressionists, Doreen works in oils and mixed media through an intuitive process of applying, layering, and stripping back. Vibrant colour and floating forms emerge and dissolve,  nothing stays static. The result is painting that poses more questions than it answers, reflecting the enigma of making sense of a world where truth feels increasingly elusive.

Doreen grew up in 1950s Montreal to Canadian and Dutch parents, studied at the Ontario College of Art and Emily Carr College of Art and Design, and has called Vancouver home since. Her work is shaped by decades of travel and a deep connection to the abstract expressionist tradition.
