Following recommendations from local authorities regarding mounting traffic and safety concerns, Spruce Meadows is introducing a new format for its beloved holiday lights tradition — one that keeps community safety front and centre. 

Proceeds will support the Spruce Meadows Leg Up Foundation’s December initiatives in support of Calgary & Area Food Banks.

ENCHANTED FESTIVAL at Spruce Meadows

This year, the Christmas Lights will be a walking-only event (no drive-through). Please note that admission will now require a ticket purchase. We advise you to purchase your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment at the gate. Spruce Meadows’ Enchanted Festival features millions of lights stretching more than 50 kilometers, and this year will include 100 glistening horses among the whimsical favourites — from the shimmering peacock to the family of bears and the charming little fox.

PAW PASS!

We’re excited to welcome your four-legged friends to the Enchanted Festival with our new Paw Pass! 

Bring your furry friend to the Enchanted Festival! Proceeds from each Paw Pass will be donated to Parachutes for Pets. Your pup can enjoy an enclosed outdoor dog park with fun obstacles, festive photo ops, and a special Christmas treat! Your pups can join in the fun, but please note that pets are only permitted in designated areas. Dog owner liability notice

Step inside the 36,000 sq. ft. Equi-Plex to enjoy a sparkling light display and discover the indoor maze, then take a moment to relax, sit, and warm up in one of the cosy rest areas. Enjoy family-friendly movies, delicious food and beverage options, and plenty of space to unwind — all under one roof inside the Equi-Plex, a magical new addition to the festival experience.

FAQ:

Q: Can I still drive through the Christmas Lights?
A: This year, the Christmas Lights have moved to a walking-only format. Guests are invited to stroll through the displays and enjoy the lights up close.

Q: Is there a cost to attend?
A: Yes. Admission now requires a ticket purchase. Tickets are available online and at the gate (subject to availability).

Q: Do Personal Care Attendants require a ticket?
A: No. Customers with disabilities may bring a personal care attendant free of charge. Please identify yourself at the ticket booth as a PCA when accompanying the individual you are assisting into the event.

Q: Do I have to purchase my ticket in advance?
A: Tickets are available both online and at the gate (subject to availability). However, to avoid disappointment, we recommend securing your tickets in advance as some dates may reach capacity. If something comes up, tickets can always be exchanged for another day (subject to availability).

Q: Why the change?
A: Ensuring the safety of our guests is our top priority. Moving to a walking format allows guests to take in the displays at their own pace safely, enjoy photo opportunities, and experience the magic of the lights in a whole new way. 

Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Yes! Simply purchase a Paw Pass ticket on your selected date, and scan it at the gate along with your ticket. All dogs must remain on a leash at all times and can only enter designated areas.  Please ensure you clean up after your pet.
