Emma Citrine // www.emmacitrine.com

Emma Citrine creates art that operates on barely-there flickers of hope and candid portrayals of pain. The versatile and excruciatingly intimate journey of this Vancouver-born songwriter weaves unvarnished emotion together with the raw vitality of indie music. Her hauntingly minimalistic sound crosses genres and will continue to provide assorted levels of musical and emotional exploration to the same listener at different times. Chronicling consuming stories that dig deep into depression, almost as if displaying her open wounds for the world to see, Citrine administers a delicate balance between self-deprecation and redemption.

Porteau // www.porteaumusic.com

Porteau is an indie folk band led by Victoria Williams and Craig Stevenson. Their collaboration grew out of happy coincidence, a shared love for their home of B.C., and an uncompromised musical vision. Ethereal vocals take center stage, supported by washes of looped and modulated guitar. With lyrics steeped in folklore, they use their surrounding West Coast landscape as a backdrop to explore and unearth stories of human nature. They are currently recording their debut album, Water’s Gate, a thematic collection of songs set for release in fall 2018. Porteau fuses their background in jazz with folk music, electronic elements and open soundscapes. Their sound is intimate yet expansive, carving a wave into their own unmapped styling.

Caroline Allatt // carolineallatt.com
An old soul in a young body and a crazy mind! The honest and powerful voice who scats on folk and jigs on blues.
- Nicole Lefebvre

Cara Bateman // www.carabateman.com

Though she stands small, singer-songwriter Cara Bateman’s voice is anything but. Bold and intoxicating, her sound has been described as a rock-gospel fusion. Her powerful vocals are coloured with a natural rasp that is at times gritty and soulful, and other times warm as honey. In her live performances, Cara is known to captivate, and literally silence, an audience – it is not uncommon for a hush to fall over the crowd when she belts out her first notes.
