Description
On-Stage Series
Ella Forrest is a Regina-based, award-winning artist known for her rich blend of jazz, funk, and disco. Since debuting in 2022, she has carved out a unique space in Canada’s soul scene with her velvety vocals, infectious grooves, and retro-modern sound. Drawing inspiration from the likes of Corrine Bailey Rae, Silk Sonic, and Earth, Wind & Fire, Ella brings a timeless energy to her music while pushing genre boundaries with creativity and intention.
Backed by her five-piece band, The Great Pines, Ella delivers high-energy live performances featuring soulful originals, deep grooves, and hard-hitting covers. In 2023, she released her debut EP Butterflies, which earned Album of the Year at the 2025 Sask Music Awards. The band’s summer 2024 performances at All Folked Up and the SaskTel Jazz Festival further cemented their reputation as one of the most exciting emerging acts in the province.
Now in 2025, Ella is unveiling her sophomore EP Retrograde—a project released track by track, highlighting the group’s matured sound and musical growth. With each release, Ella continues to evolve as both a vocalist and songwriter, delivering music that resonates deeply while keeping listeners on their feet.
