E-Retreat 2021

Hello, hello first year engineering students! Are you itching to swap out the big city life for a remote island with fresh air, the ocean, and beautiful views? Do you want to meet your fellow classmates and make some new engineering friends? Do you love fun? Join the EUS for E-Retreat, the best weekend of the year! Hop in a kayak or on a paddle board. Go on an epic hike that you probably won’t get lost on. Learn all about the EUS traditions and spend the weekend with us at Camp Latona on Gambier Island!

WHAT? 

The best weekend of first year!

WHERE? 

The EUS has been hosting E-Retreat at Camp Latona on Gambier Island for years! Camp Latona sits on the north side of the island, on 118 acres of rainforest and sits right on the ocean shore. Camp Latona is home to pristine waters and wildlife from ocean, land and sky. There’s a modern dock and swim floats as well as a beach entry swimming area.

WHEN? 

E-Retreat takes place on September 17-19. We’ll be leaving UBC Campus at 5 PM on September 17, right after our PrE-Retreat barbecue - free food for E-Retreat attendees! We travel from UBC to Horseshoe Bay via bus and finish our journey by boat. We have a full day of activities on Saturday! When we return on September 19, we are set to arrive back at UBC by 3 PM.

HOW?

We’ll all be loading into buses for the first leg of our trip and then we boat through a scenic route to get to Camp Latona!

WHAT ARE YOU GETTING WITH YOUR TICKET? 

• 3 meals/day
• Full transportation cost
• 2 Nights stay in a cabin with your friends
• Showers, sinks, and toilets with running water
• Activities run by Camp Latona (kayaking, low ropes, hike, swimming, etc)
• Snacks and s’mores
• Quality bonding time!

HOW DO YOU PAY? 

You have two options: payment can be completed online using credit card through Showpass or cash delivered to the Engineering Undergraduate Society representatives.

***IF YOU INTEND TO PURCHASE A TICKET USING CASH***

Please email eusweeke0@gmail.com ASAP, with your full name and phone number. We will reserve a ticket for you and you must provide cash in full at one of the scheduled meetups. We will likely be unable to provide change. If we read your email after registration is full, we will give priority to online ticket purchases (credit card).

If you buy a ticket and decide E-Retreat is not right for you, you can get a full refund. The deadline for this is Tuesday, September 14. After this time, no refund will be given.
