Description

On Sunday, January 25 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., the SF Teaching Zoo is trialing a new experience - Dog Days at the Zoo! This test event is exclusively for Santa Fe College faculty & staff & Zoo Members, at no cost. Adult & Dog tickets must be reserved in advance and are timed entry, as there is limited capacity for this event. Any additional family members wishing to join can be added onto your online order, or can be purchased in person at the ticket window. When arriving, check in at the ticket window with your digital Showpass ticket. All dogs must exit the zoo no later than 1 p.m. 

Guidelines

  • This event is for well-behaved dogs only – please leave cats, reptiles, birds, reactive dogs and other pets at home.
  • All dogs must have a “dog ticket” to enter the zoo. Dog tickets can be purchased in advance via Showpass.com, and are timed entry. (i.e. if you purchase a 10-11 a.m. time slot, you must enter the zoo between that hour).
  • All dogs must be accompanied by an adult guest with a ticket. Only 1 dog per adult will be allowed entry.
  • All dogs must be on a non-retractable leash, no longer than 6 feet. Leashes must be attached at all times, even if the dog is in a carrier or stroller. Dog should have a collar or harness; prong, choke, spike or heavy chain collars are not allowed. 
  • Dogs must have an up-to-date Rabies vaccination, Distemper Virus & Parvovirus. Please bring proof of vaccinations to check in. 
  • Owners are responsible for cleaning up waste and ensuring proper hydration and temperature control for their dog. Water stations & trash receptacles will be available throughout the zoo.
  • Dogs may not have contact with any Zoo animal (including free ranging peafowl), or act in a way that agitates Zoo animals or other guests/dogs.
  • If a Zoo animal displays adverse behavior due to the presence of dogs, you will be asked to move on from that area.
  • Dogs that are excessively barking, not under owner’s control, or displaying adverse reactions to Zoo animals or other dogs/guests will be asked to leave the zoo. Dog and adult tickets will not be refunded.

Dog Restrictions 

  • Puppies under 4 months, sick dogs (sneezing, coughing, vomiting, diarrhea), dogs with active injuries (e.g., stitches, bandages), and female dogs in heat are not suitable for the event.
  • Dogs not up to date on Rabies, Distemper & Parvovirus vaccinations are not allowed. 
  • Retractable leashes, or prong, choke, spike or heavy chain collars are not allowed. 
  • Dogs that are excessively barking, not under owner’s control, or displaying adverse reactions to Zoo animals or other dogs/guests will be asked to leave the zoo without a refund. 
  • Owners who do not clean up after their dog will be asked to leave the zoo without a refund.

The Santa Fe College Teaching Zoo, a unique 10-acre zoo in Gainesville, Florida, is the only zoo on a college campus accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The zoo is open every day from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Refund Policy

ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No refunds. In the event of a cancellation for which there is no rescheduled date, a refund for this ticket may be issued at the option of the management.
