Dynesti (she/her)
Toronto songwriter, singer, rapper, dancer, and powerhouse performer Dynesti can transform any space with a potent mix of raw honesty, life lessons, humour, and collective participation. Blending neo-soul and conscious hip-hop with splashes of reggae, dancehall and afrofusion, her infectious vibe motivates people to unleash their authentic selves through bold expression. She rose from the shelter system and programs like SKETCH Working Arts, RISE Edutainment, The Remix Project, and Honey Jam to share stages with stars like Sean Paul and Talib Kweli. Her gutsy 2026 album “The Dyna: Breakfast” speaks on womanhood, community, mental wellness, love and relationships as a Black girl from a broken home.
J3M (he/him)
J3M combines pop, disco, & soul into an infectious sound that will stay with you long after the show is over! A singer, songwriter, producer, instrumentalist and dynamic performer, he’s appeared at Pride Festivals nationwide, Casa Loma, River & Sky Festival and much more! A 2026 Capital Music Award nominee, he’s also been featured on JUNO & Polaris nominated releases as a keyboardist. J3M has shared stages with artists including Jully Black and Cyndi Lauper, and backed artists such as Yukon Blonde, Tanika Charles and The OBGM’s across Canada and internationally. His latest single, LOVE ADDICT, is out now!!
Grace Marr (she/her)
Ottawa-born singer-songwriter, Grace Marr, is a powerhouse vocalist known for clever hooks, soulful harmonies, and gritty demeanour. Taking on stages like Breakfast Television and NXNE, Grace Marr crosses audiences and genres as she weaves together candid storytelling and gospel-inspired harmonies. While offering a fresh voice to Pop music, Grace continues to represent Queer people navigating faith and spirituality in the Church, and has notably written for artists such as Maverick City Music.
Folke (they/them)
Folke is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, violin, viola, cello, harp, saxophone) and intuitive composer born in New Jersey and based for many years in Canada. They bring folk soul roots with a melody of strings that move like wind; gentle, directional, and impossible to ignore. The storytelling grit of Tracy Chapman combines with the structural precision of Bach into a sound that feels both timeless and restless.
A Gemini whose element is air, Folke is a natural communicator, finding their voice through strings and melody. The name itself was once a point of distance between artist and identity; today, "I am Folke" is a statement of arrival—a full embrace of the artistry they've grown into.
Already a fixture in Toronto's experimental and folk-adjacent scenes, Folke has performed recently with LAL's full band and on their forthcoming LP A Practice Of Love. Currently in the studio recording a debut solo album, Folke is building a catalog that bridges folk intimacy with soulful expansiveness.
Nefe (they/them)
Enshrined within Nefe’s rock and soul sensibilities you find an artist who is equal parts songwriting oracle and vocal magician. Masterfully in control of their sonant undulations, combined with lyrical rawness, their songs lure listeners into a journey through a rich musical tapestry built upon the frame of alternative soul and R&B.
296 Broadview is not yet a fully wheelchair accessible venue, with stairs between all levels. Our goal is to fix that, and we need your support to do so - please consider making a donation towards our goals to make HRL the best listening room in Toronto!
