Our Gate Staff will verify all Electronic Waivers upon entry. Every Participant must CHECK IN at the Competition Gate DAILY before hitting the track. Daily check-ins are necessary for insurance compliance. Failure to adhere to this daily check-in process may result in immediate removal from the facility.

Augtoberfest is the first ever craft beer festival to take place in Stony Plain, AB. Hosted and organized by West Parkland Gas Co-op with 100% of the proceeds being donated to TriCALA. Spend an afternoon or evening sampling quality craft beers by breweries from across Alberta. There will be food trucks as well as a DJ to ensure you have the best time possible, all while getting to #cheerstocharity!

An exciting form of racing that creates a unique community, where racers and their friends, families and fans enjoy a weekend at the track and a chance to get out with others with a passion for racing. But it also means some highly competitive Drag Racing. Fans can see dragsters, cars, trucks, and Junior Dragsters, all of which are competing for prize money and the all-important series points that go toward series championships at the end of the season.
The Bracket Drag Series combined with the NHRA Division 6 regional competition is the weekly series where local sportsman racers vie for year end points championship. Electronics, Non-electronics, Top Eliminator, Cash is King 1/8 Mile, Street Sportsman and Jr. Dragster

The Uptown Summer Festival is the music festival that we throw for ourselves. Located 25 minutes west of Edmonton on a picturesque property, with a gorgeous stage, 20,000 Watts of sound, lights and facilities for camping for tents and RV's up to 30 foot.
Music is provided by the finest musicians from Edmonton's jam community. Each year, special guests and jammers are invited to play in an open stage format. Come and enjoy the music and the great outdoors, and bring your instruments if you play!

Most festival goers arrive on Friday night and enjoy music around the huge firepit and then camp out.  Music runs all day Saturday from 2 pm till midnight, followed by more campfire music until everyone goes to bed (usually around 6 am).  If you're a camper, you can camp all weekend, or if you're a day tripper, the festival grounds are so close to Edmonton that it's a short drive.  
There is limited space for RV's in excess of 25 feet long.  Please confirm with organizers, closer to the festival time.

Alberta Beer Mile
Join us for the Alberta Beer Mile - a fun-filled event organized by the Rotaract Club of Strathcona County. We will celebrating the love for beer (and running)! Lace up your sneakers and get ready for an unforgettable experience at the Strathcona Athletic Park in Sherwood Park.
Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a good time, this event is perfect for everyone. Runners will complete a mile while enjoying refreshing beers at designated stations along the course. It's all about combining fitness and fun!
We will be following official beer mile rules so those who want to be more competitive can compare their times to other official races. The official rules can be found here: https://www.beermile.com/about/rules/1
Get ready to challenge yourself, cheer on your friends, and help give back to the community. The funds raised during this event will go towards local and international goodwill and volunteer opportunities with the Rotaract Club of Strathcona County.

In this one-day workshop, participants will immerse themselves in the craft of writing.
Join novelist and playwright, Fran Kimmel, as she welcomes participants. 
Author Leslie Greentree will guide participants in creating three-dimensional antagonists, adding richness, depth, and yes, even heart to their story in her workshop 'Think of Your Poor, Poor Villain'.
Playwright Blaine Newton will guide participants in his workshop, 'Writing Comedy is Nothing to Laugh About'. From sketches to stories to plays, comedy is often what will get the point across. And the sharper, the better.
Time will be set aside after each workshop for self-guided writing and sharing. Participants can stretch their legs and explore the facility and yard to find their perfect place to write. Writing prompts will be available to anyone needing inspiration.
Participants will be guided through a brief sound meditation, cleansing their palettes before breaking for lunch (provided).
The day will end with a panel discussion/Q&A session, “From Pen to Public – Creative Ways to Share Your Writing”. In this 45-minute session, seasoned authors will come together to delve into the art of building a writing portfolio. Facilitators:
Fran Kimmel has worked an eclectic mix of jobs including youth worker, career counsellor, proposal writer, and a ten-year stint as VP for a career consulting firm. Her short stories have appeared in literary journals from coast to coast, and her plays have been produced for both theatre and radio. Fran has published two novels. The Shore Girl landed on the CBC Top 40-Book List and won the Alberta Reader’s Choice Award. No Good Asking, shortlisted for the 2019 Georges Bugnet and ReLit Awards, has been translated for international markets. Fran’s third novel will hit bookshelves in the spring of 2025.
Leslie Greentree is the author of four books – Not the Apocalypse I Was Hoping For (University of Calgary Press, 2022), which was shortlisted for a High Plains Book Award, the award-winning short story collection A Minor Planet for You, and two poetry books: go-go dancing for Elvis, which was shortlisted for the 2004 Griffin Prize for Poetry, and guys named Bill. Leslie has won CBC literary competitions for short fiction and poetry, and the Sarah Selecky 2013 Little Bird short fiction competition.
Leslie is also an occasional essayist: “Tom Petty Just Isn’t There for You: Riffs on Waiting” appears in Waiting: an anthology of essays (University of Alberta Press, 2018); “Pink Smock Stories,” was shortlisted for a 2019 Writers Guild of Alberta award and the 2020 Humber Creative Nonfiction award.
Blaine Newton is an award-winning playwright, sketch writer, short story writer, actor, improvisor and sometime engineer whose plays have been seen by well under a million people. His most recent theatrical productions include: The Kyleness of Kyle, The Thin Grey Line and Five Stages of Death, all at the Edmonton Fringe Festival; Bravo, which was staged by Edmonton’s Shadow Theatre; and Oral Fixations, co-written with Leslie Greentree, which was staged by Ignition Theatre in Red Deer.
Blaine’s short story collection, Rag Pickers, is forthcoming from University of Calgary Press in 2025. One of the stories in the collection, "Coffee Break," was produced by CBC radio; another, "By the Numbers," was published in Freefall Magazine; and a third, "Life in a Bottle," was shortlisted for the 2021 Bristol Short Story Prize and appears in that year’s anthology.
Jean Oram grew up in an old schoolhouse in a Canadian town, population 100 (cats and dogs not included). She is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling romance author of over 35 feel-good, tingle-inducing, heartwarming romances. Jean lives in Canada with her husband, two kids, cat, dog, and the wild neighbourhood rabbits who help themselves to her garden. She can often be found outdoors or reading a book.
Vonda PetersonCo-Authored A Hole in Our Hearts with her son, Kelly Neville.
Vonda emerged from a career in health care administration to pursue art for 20 winters in Arizona. In 1991 she revealed her long time secret and search for the son she gave up for adoption. After spending years working toward open adoption records in Alberta, she was finally able to search and find her firstborn son who didn’t know he was adopted. The book was inspired by the many letters and chats as the two filled in the 40-year gap of getting to know each other. Vonda is currently living in Red Deer and working on a one-act comedy. She is a member of the Red Deer Arts Council, the Inkblots Writing Group, Storytelling Alberta (Red Deer Chapter), and the Writers’ Guild of Alberta. Vonda will soon mark her 84th birthday.

DETAILS

MEALS: Dinner is only included on Night 2 (May 23) and Wrap Night (July 5). All other dates are lesson-only nights (but you should definitely plan golf gal patio dates with your group members on the other nights). 
CLUBS: If you need to borrow clubs they are complimentary at all four of your lessons. You will need to pay to rent them at Eagle Rock GC for Wrap Night. 
WRAP NIGHT: Our final on-course night is called Wrap Night and will be on July 5 at Eagle Rock GC for all golfers registered in Spring lessons. Event details will be emailed to you the week prior.  
PREP FOR YOUR PROGRAM: More details on what to expect, wear, and how to prep can be found HERE.
REGISTRATION: You may register for a friend at check out. You will be required to add their first and last name, phone number, and email address in order to check out.

CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY:Programs are operated by GOLF & TACOS | Edmonton (Sturgeon Valley) independently from other GOLF & TACOS | Edmonton locations. All refunds must be processed through Showpass by contacting the organizer (GOLF & TACOS | Edmonton (Sturgeon Valley) directly. Programs cannot be transferred to another location will provide a partial refund (less the Processing and Showpass fees) for programs canceled up to 10 days in advance of the event start date. Within 10 days, programs are non-refundable, however, we will accept transfers to another individual until the start date of the program. This year, the 4th annual Disco in the Park Festival becomes...DISCO IN THE PARKING LOT!This year Disco In The Park music festival has condensed down into one epic day and night event in partnership with the Fruit Loop & Grindstone Theatre Society Pride Block Party weekend. An outdoor disco party, dancing in the streets in the center of the city, plus multiple wild late night after party events within walking distance! Fully licensed, food available, and unreal DJ sets and live performances all day from local talents and headlining guests from around the world. Kick off your summer with us for unforgettable vibes.

The outdoor festival event runs from 5-10PM on the Main Block Party Stage.
2 after parties begin at 10PM at The Grindstone (10019 - 81 Ave), and The Faculty (10151 82 Ave) - each with 2 rooms of music! 
All after party tickets include access (based on capacity) to both late night events! (you can hop between parties as long as the venue isn't over capacity)

Food & Drink: Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available throughout the weekend. Food will be available on site. ATM's are on site, and debit payment will be available. Sealed water is welcome. Other food and drink will not be allowed into the event.
Security and Safety: Bag checks will happen at the door, as well as random pat downs. If you feel sick or unsafe in any way, please seek out help from our first aid trained Security Staff, Management or Food and Beverage Service team.
Smoking: There will be a designated smoking area for both Tobacco and Cannabis. 
Washrooms: Public washrooms are located in the Grindstone as well as a single WC beside the food tent.

Lillian Osborne's Musical Theatre, Technical Theatre and Theatre Design classes present INTO THE WOODS (Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, Book by James Lapine). A modern classic of musical theatre, Into the Woods follows several well-known characters, such as Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel, and Jack and the Beanstalk, among others, and imagines a world where all of these characters inhabit the same universe. With each character set on getting their wish, what will the ramifications be when those wishes come into conflict with one another; worse yet, what will happen when a world-changing calamity befalls all of these characters? Into the Woods is hilarious, thoughtful, experimental, and filled to the brim with some of the absolute best musical theatre songs ever written.Lillian Osborne's classes have been working extremely hard to bring this challenging and complex musical to life, and you can see their hard work on the Maclab Theatre stage May 30 - June 1, with shows at 7:00 each day (as well as at 1:00 on June 1). Featuring student-designed sets, costumes, lighting, sound and props, as well as a live orchestra led by Jillian Hanks Meyer, you are not going to want to miss this show. Stage Eaters Theatre, in collaboration with Psychopomp Comedy, presents The Outsiders, based on S.E. Hinton's classic novel.  Experience the harrowing story of Ponyboy and the greasers, as they navigate the intersection of innocence and trauma.
 
Please be advised that this play depicts traumatic events such as gang violence and death, and may include flashing lights.  It is not recommended for children younger than 10 years of age. 
 
Free parking is available adjacent to the theatre doors at the back (east) side of the North Academic Building.
 
This play, adapted for the stage by Christopher Sergel, is produced by special arrangement with THE DRAMATIC PUBLISHING COMPANY of Woodstock, Illinois.
