Dirt Diaries VIP Experience

Crankworx and Whistler Blackcomb celebrated the creative spirit, and storytelling culture of mountain biking in this video throw-down for the eighth year in a row. Six filmmakers bring us the ride of our lives this summer, showcasing a slice of one athlete’s diary. These four to six-minute videos begin production June 1 and hit the big screen in Whistler Olympic Plaza Tuesday, August 14. Teams must include the Whistler Valley and Whistler Mountain Bike Park in a quarter of their film—from there it’s free creative licence. They choose the size and scope of their team, their supports, their geographical boundaries. This is the blank canvass of the Crankworx culture beat and our shooters on the cutting edge of their game.

  

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This is a licensed area therefore you must be aged 19 or older and show a valid government ID to purchase alcohol at the VIP Experience.

Can I bring my kids in the VIP zone?
The VIP Experience is a licensed area and you are welcome to bring your children. The entire Great Lawn of Whistler Olympic Plaza is free and open to families as well. 

What can I bring into the event?
We love pets but please do not bring them to the event as this is a service area and animals are not permitted. No outside alcohol will be permitted. Bags/backpacks are permitted in the venue but will be checked by security at the entrance.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Access will be granted either with an electronic ticket displayed on your mobile device or a printed ticket. Please consider the environment before printing any paper tickets. All electronic/paper QR codes will be individually scanned in order to gain access to the event.

How accessible is the venue?
As the VIP experience takes place in the Whistler Olympic Plaza at the northern end of the Whistler Village the venue is very accessible. The VIP zone is paved and there are no stairs to access the VIP zone.

Will there be washroom facilities at the event?
Public washrooms will be accessible at the venue.

What should I wear?
Please dress according to the weather conditions i.e. bring a sweater/jacket as this is an outdoor event under the stars. Even in summer the temperature can drop quite quickly once the sun has set.

Are umbrellas permitted?
To ensure each guest has the best possible view of the show umbrellas are not permitted. In the event of heavy rain the event will be postponed/rescheduled.

Is there seating available inside the venue?
Seating is available on a first come first served basis. There is no assigned seating.

What parking is available in Whistler?
Whistler has multiple parking options, some is paid parking and some is free parking. The closest parking to Whistler Olympic Plaza is Day Lot 4 which becomes free parking after 5:00pm. Please note the Marketplace carpark is now paid parking year round.
