Do It For The Culture showcases some of the best artists in the country and brings some of the most important music industry professionals in the game to interior BC! Do It For The Culture is a movement that is amplifies the voices of underrepresented artists and professionals, with a specific focus on those who make music of black origin.
The Festival includes 3 nights of programming with over 15 artists, including some of Canada's most exciting emerging stars as well as the hottest upcoming talent BC has to offer from an array of genres including hip-hop, R&B, Afrobeat, house and more. All shows will take place at Kelowna's premiere live music venue The Revelry.

Luigi Fidelia, known professionally as City Fidelia, is a Canadian rapper, community builder, and entrepreneur emerging from Ottawa, Ontario. Having performed at sold-out shows in North America, Asia, and Europe, City Fidelia often considers himself as an artist from a small city with big dreams. He has previously collaborated and gained recognition from artists like Malik Yusef of G.O.O.D Music, Timbaland and Vic Mensa.
Teon Gibbs has journeyed from his formative years in Botswana and South London to his current base in Kelowna - and it’s this diverse background, with a rich exposure to a myriad of cultures, that has greatly influenced his musical style. Blending elements of R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop to create a sound that resonates deeply with global audiences, Gibbs has gained a reputation for consistently delivering smooth vocals and relatable lyrics.
In a world where everything is increasingly virtual, ZADA is tethered to nature. Ethiopia-born and Canada-based, the 20-year-old was raised in the snowy mountains of Whistler, British Columbia. This natural environment informs ZADA’s singular musical voice, a fresh blend of neo-soul and R&B with generous doses of Afrobeat and folk, propelled by organic grooves and breezy melodies.
Born in the nation’s capital, Haitian Canadian artist Beaugé is a being beyond the metrics and hype of the digital era. A cutthroat lyricist who writes above emcees heads. And so the blade falls; proverbial heads roll downhill. Beaugé’s stage performance has been known to shake the foundation of many venues. As the kids say “he’s a problem”.
Maya Jade is a Jamaican-Canadian singer and artist currently based in Vancouver, BC. Raised in a music-filled household where reggae, soul, and R&B were always playing, Maya developed a deep love for singing early on. No matter where life took her—including several moves across countries—she consistently found her way into music programs, from school choirs and jazz bands to orchestras and music camps.Her smooth, soulful voice and blend of R&B and pop draw inspiration from artists like Sade, Mereba, and Jorja Smith.
