Description

Do It For The Culture is an event that showcases some of the best artists in the country and brings some of the most important music industry professionals in the game to interior BC! Do It For The Culture is a movement that is amplifies the voices of underrepresented artists and professionals, with a specific focus on those who make music of black origin.

The Festival includes 3 nights of programming with over 15 artists, including some of Canada's most exciting hip-hop and R&B stars as well as the hottest emerging talent BC has to offer.

NONSO AMADI

Nonso Amadi is a Canadian-based Afro-RnB, Soul singer, songwriter, and producer from Nigeria with a unique fusion of sounds.

TERRELL MORRIS

Terrell Morris channels introspection to make his music. The Toronto-native is a self-taught songwriter, poet, singer and bass player who believes versatility of craft allows him to sharpen his skills, much like his favourite artists Raphael Saadiq, Erykah Badu and Jay-Z.

SNOWCHILD EDGE

Snowchild Edge is a Nigerian-born, Canadian-based artist. His sound is genre-fluid with elements of afro-fusion & alternative hip-hop.

SPITTY

Spitty is a rapper and community leader from Brampton, Canada who is creating a unique buzz with a dedicated following. South Asian samples and instruments blend with North American influence to birth his unique approach to hip hop.

 

CHAI SULLY

Chai Sully is an rnb fairy and rap diva. Emerging neo-soul artist, her music blends rich soulful vocals with a street savvy pen. 

 

SATOSHI YANO

Satoshi Yano was born and raised in a sleepy town, nestled in the valley bottoms of the Monashee, and Selkirk mountain ranges of British Columbia, Canada. His music embodies a certain Kootenay aesthetic, that is driven by authenticity.
