Join the Calgary Public Library and Wordfest for the 13th Edition of Calgary's most Guilt-Free Trivia Competition, hosted by Richard Kemick. Trivia questions are loosely inspired by the month's featured author, journalist and author Taylor Lambert. But familiarity with the Lambert's work is not required and will not necessarily increase your chances of winning.

About Taylor Lambert

Taylor Lambert is a journalist who has published three previous books, including Leaving Moose Jaw and the Calgary bestseller, Rising: Stories of the 2013 Alberta Flood. To pay for tuition and later to offset his freelance writing, Lambert worked moving furniture, which led to the idea to write a book centered on the moving industry: Darwin’s Moving. He currently resides in Calgary.

Darwin’s Moving is an intriguing and affecting exploration of class divides by a journalist and former mover. Lambert takes us behind the scenes of a familiar industry that is almost completely undocumented in Canadian literature to reveal the cycles of poverty and addiction that ensnare its workers. This is the other Calgary, a world populated by transient men and women struggling to survive in a boomtown’s shadow.

Richard Kelly Kemick’s poetry and prose have been published in literary magazines and journals across Canada and the United States, most recently in The Walrus and The Fiddlehead. His debut collection of poetry, Caribou Run, was published March 2016 by Goose Lane Editions and selected by CBC as one of the season’s Must Read Collections. Most recently, Kemick won the gold medal for Fiction at the 2017 National Magazine Award for his story, “The Unitarian Church’s Annual Young Writer’s Short Story Competition.”
