Dia de los Muertos Celebration at The Saskatoon Farm!

Dia de los Muertos translates to Day of the Dead and its an important day in Mexican culture. Typically celebrated on November 1st and 2nd, Dia de los Muertos is a celebration of ancestors who have passed away - the festivities that take place are joyful and help people remember the deceased and celebrate their memory. Many of our team members hail from Mexico, so it's very exciting for us to be hosting a Dia de los Muertos celebration here at the Saskatoon Farm. Our greenhouse will be glowing with Mexican decor, lights, towering tropical plants, good friends, and great music.

Children 5 and under get in free! 

- Event start time and location: The event begins at 6:30 pm in our Main Greenhouse. The rest of the farm will be closed. 

- Ticketed Event Only! Tickets must be pre-purchased online! NO WALK-INS!

- Tickets are for admission only - food/ drinks/ any additional items are NOT included in ticket price. 

- Live Music: Starts at 7:30 pm. We're excited to have Grupo RM here for Dia de los Muertos. Grupo RM is an Norteño music ensemble that includes 4 highly talented musicians and singers. Their authentic sound and deeply rooted musical heritage from Mexico are sure to get you on the dance floor at our Dio de las Muertos celebration! 

- Food & Drinks: Fresh grilled tacos & traditional Mexican salsas will be served from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. We'll also be serving Cervezas (Corona, Modelo) with Lime AND Slush Margaritas (Strawberry & Lime).  

- Attire: We encourage you to dress up for this event in your best costumes! This doesn't necessarily have to be a Dio de las Muertos costume though! Dress to impress! The best dressed individual will receive a $200 gift card to the farm, and the best-dressed duo will receive a $150 gift card. Large bags will not be permitted - we reserve the right to inspect bags and personnel at the admission booth.

RESERVE A TABLE:

Tables of 10 can be reserved and must be pre-booked through this ticket page. Please select your tickets and proceed to the checkout to add your reserved table of 10. 

SHUTTLE SERVICE:

You can book a taxi to provide a ride to and from the Farm but Uber will not pick up from the Farm. That being said, we are looking at providing a pre-paid shuttle service as an additonal cost to ferry you and your group to and from the event. The shuttle has not been booked yet and will only be booked if there is enough interest in it. We will look at locating the shuttle pickup and drop off in South East Calgary. Pickup woould be on or around 6:00 and then drop off will take place on or around 12:30 pm. The price per person is to be determined but will likely be around $15 per person. If you would like to take a shuttle to the farm from South East Calgary, please let us know by answering the question when purchasing your tickets at the checkout. We will contaxct you to arrange payment to pre-book your shuttle service. If provided, this service will not be available on the night of the event and must be pre-booked.  

Please note: From family to staff, we've got many staff, young families and pets that call the farm their home. Please respect our space and do not venture beyond the event venue.
