Design Sprint 2019

Join us for the Sprint of the year...

On Saturday February 9th 2019, engineering and business students are invited to attend UVic's first ever DESIGN SPRINT. The day will start of with you and your team being given an industry and asked to solve any problem that it may have or create something new that will innovate current processes. You will have five hours to brainstorm, come up with a prototype and prepare a presentation to present in front of a panel of judges for the chance to win cold, hard CASH.

This isn't a typical competition...there will be social challenges throughout the day that teams can compete in for the chance to win prizes, a catered lunch, and...AN AFTER PARTY.

We want to see all of you come out to this event, have a blast, win some cash, and party 'til the break of dawn.

What is a Design Sprint?

It focuses on business strategy, innovation, behavior science, design thinking, and more — packaged into a battle-tested process that any team can use. It is an intensive design-thinking workshop that guides your team from an initial concept to a user-validated prototype. This unique, structured approach to problem-solving forces alignment between stakeholders, creates space for ideation, and validates the potential success or failure of new initiatives.

What time?

Check-in starts at 9 AM, and you will have five hours to work with your team - with a forty five minute break for an AWESOME lunch...and then a presentation period. All-in, you should be done the competition by 6 PM and then be able to hit up that after party, which starts at 9 PM.
