Desautels Concert Series -Venus Unhinged

The Winnipeg Chamber Winds Collective, founded and conducted by Jacquie Dawson, presents a varied program of works for chamber ensemble including a song cycle by Amanda Harberg that explores the risks and troubles of romantic love. Also on the program are Pavane by Katahj Copley and Darius Milhaud’s jazz-inspired The Creation of the World, with guest performers from the faculty and students of the Desautels Faculty of Music Jazz Program. The performance will also feature visual creations by faculty from the University of Manitoba School of Art, inspired by the music and designed to enhance the audience experience and bring Milhaud’s vibrant score to life.
