Dave Merheje

Dave Merheje is considered to be one of the most original stand-up acts on the comedy scene today. His multiple award-winning act has gained a loyal following across in North America with his “no fear” approach on stage and a comedy style best described as aggressive in-your-face funny. Dave had his first comedy special air in Australia on ABC2, and has made appearances on Comedy Network’s Match Game, was a regular contributor on MTV Live, recurred on CBC’s Mr. D, and he co-stars in the comedy series Ramy on Hulu. He Co-starred alongside Daisy Ridley in the movie Sometimes I Think About Dying which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 19th, 2023. Film is now available on digital and on-demand in the US and Canada.

As a stand-up, Dave won the Just For Laugh's 2011 Homegrown Comic Competition and NOW Magazine's 2011 Best of Toronto Award for Best Male Stand-up. In 2012 he was a part of the NBC Standup for Diversity tour, and a Canadian Comedy Award-nominee for Best Stand-up. In 2013 he was nominated for another Canadian Comedy Award, this time for best taped live performance, and was a finalist at the Seattle Comedy Competition. Dave has made multiple appearances at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal, JFL42 in Toronto, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in Australia, and tours clubs and theatres regularly. In 2018 Dave released his comedy special “Good Friend Bad Grammar” which is available on iTunes and Amazon Prime, and won the 2019 Juno Award for Comedy Album of the year. His Netflix Comedy Special “Beautifully Manic” is part of Comedians of the World. And more recently he filmed a special called “I Love You Habibi” that is streaming on Crave in Canada.

FEATURING:

Clare Belford

Clare has performed at festivals like Just For Laughs, the New York Comedy Festival, the Halifax Comedy Festival and she appears on CBC’s New Wave of Stand Up. She writes for This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and her debut album, The Entire Cabbage, plays regularly on SiriusXM, and was named one of the Best of 2021 by Bullseye on NPR.

REVIEW: “Deliciously funny. Belford is very cool and super chill” - Joyful Magpies Clare Belford is a comedian and a very nice person. Hailing from northern Alberta, she cut her teeth early on by forcibly telling deeply personal jokes about womanhood to drunk tradesmen. Nowadays she is a veritable fixture of Canadian comedy.

Sean Lecomber

Based in Alberta, Sean is a CBC's The Debaters favourite. He filmed his first Just For Laughs gala in 2013 and his comedy was featured on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.  Winner of the Just For Laughs homegrown competition, Sean’s other festival appearances include 3 appearances at the Halifax Comedy Festival as well as the Winnipeg Comedy Festival in 2013 and 2016.  He has written for This Hour Has 22 Minutes and is a two time Canadian Comedy Award nominee.  His work can also be heard on SiriusXM Radio.

Kamal Alaeddine

Comedian Kamal Alaeddine got his start as a festival street performer and circus artist. Since beginning stand-up comedy, his performances have taken him around the world. This includes representing Canada at The World Series of Comedy in Las Vegas. In Vegas, he also did a residency joining 'Beacher's Madhouse' at the MGM Grand. Kamal's television appearances include NBC's The Tonight Show, Comedy Central's Gong Show and Canada's Got Talent.
