CSL - Comedy in a Second Language 

Comedy in a Second Language is a stand up comedy show performed in English by originally non-English speaking comedians. Whatever they may lack in English fluency is made up by their undeniable comedic fluency. The hilarious Chilean comedian Patricio Mendoza will be the ESL teacher and host for the evening and will be accompanied by fellow foreign comics Hector Rivas (Venezuela), Harmeet Sing (India), Yixuan Zhang (China), Pablo Zacarías (Mexico) and the Brazilian headliner Jackie Joy.

Jackie moved from Brazil to Vancouver in 2018. Her content is female-focused with many cultural comparisons, which is just a fancy way of saying she makes a lot of d*** jokes in broken english.

Nothing will make these artists feel better than celebrating thanksgiving on October 11 at the emblematic Havana Theatre on Commercial Drive. Come gobble some turkey with us!

Our Covid 19 Safety Protocols

For the safety of our guests and performers we make sure that the following are done before each show.

• Proof of vaccination will be required prior to entry 
• Assigned seating has been arranged based on Vancouver Coastal Health guidelines.
• Daily sanitation/disinfection before shows of all hard surfaces. 
• Installation of plexiglass barriers in some areas for added safety. 
• An alternate entrance and box office for our theatre guests. 
• Our ventilation system will stay on throughout the performance. 

For the safety of our guests and performers we would ask that you:

• Do not attend the performance if you are feeling ill, or symptomatic of Covid 19. 
• Please be sure to keep distance from our other guests and performers. 
• Hand sanitizer is available at the front for you to use as you arrive. 
• We would ask that you wear a mask during the performance. 
• We would ask that you follow these guidelines, and be respectful of our staff.
