CPMT Barrier Lake Finance Workshop

Each January CPMT hosts a short and impactful finance workshop trip to the University of Calgary's beautiful Barrier Lake Field Station.

Join us for great conversations, legendary food, and a welcome escape from the city to kick off your new year and new term. The format is one or two guest speakers plus one or two hands-on equity research themed activities. Details to follow.

We start with a welcome dinner at 5pm followed by speakers and a rustic overnight "camp" experience (it's indoors, linens provided, and good running water and hot showers, so not that rustic). The next day is a big breakfast, workshops, and a closing lunch. The classrooms and kitchen were recently renovated and they are great.

This is a pre-recruitment event (not required) for prospective CPMT applicants to get to know the program and be better prepared for the application. It's also open and encouraged for non-applicants that are just looking to learn more of applied finance and to hear from capital markets industry professionals in a relaxed setting. Alumni and professionals from our community are very welcome, as speakers or just to hang out.

Carpooling is organised via this link. Offer your extra seats or get a seat. Plan to arrive at 5pm please. It is about 60 mins from UCalgary. Once you are driving don't rush, it's okay to be a little late.
