You and everyone you know is invited to spend the day at The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland.

We were excited to share our new name and brand with you, but it’s most important to us that you know what we do here! We’ll have drummers and dancers, Indigenous-led talks, walking tours gardening activities, kids’ crafts and activities and even a petting zoo — ok, we don’t normally have a petting zoo, but this is a special occasion!

During the open house, we will be holding two special free programs that require separate tickets: a Tote Bag Painting workshop with local artist Krystelle Creations from 12-2 pm, and a screening of Paddington 2 in the Burnswest Theatre from 3-5 pm. If you wish to attend either of these events, please choose the associated ticket. Tickets to both programs are limited, so please register in advance to secure your spot!

Becoming the Confluence Historic Site & Parkland

On May 2, 2024, Fort Calgary changed its name to The Confluence Historic Site & Parkland. 
Under this new name, we are freer to expand the narrative of this place to encompass the many diverse histories of the land. Stories of the North-West Mounted Police and Fort Calgary help to define this place, but there are other important stories to be told, too. At The Confluence, storytelling is liberated and history is an open and welcoming book.
