Sorry, Not Sorry Presents: Entertain Me, Senpai! An Anime Improv Typhoon
Nani?! An anime improv show featuring Edmonton’s best friends combining their powers to create the ultimate in doki-doki magic laughter?! Join the top-tier weebs of Sorry, Not Sorry Productions as they weave an epic story where you choose the anime genre: from sports anime to mecha and everything in between, they’ll create it on stage for your entertainment! About the show:
We’re back, for the first time! Mom’s Got a Job playfully explores the events of the past year through movement, song, and over-the-top characters. With special guest performers Jess Lindal, Stephen Peasley, and Jennifer Leblanc.
About the writers:
Jenn Thompson has been performing improv in Calgary for 6 years with the Kinkonauts. She has performed in multiple improvised genre shows including Shakespeare, Jane Austen and Clue. Jenn has improvised on stages in Vancouver, Los Angeles and Chicago. She was also a producer and actor in The Sketchonauts, a Calgary-based sketch comedy troupe. During the pandemic she has been working on writing and developing interesting characters.
Aaron Ranger is a graduate of Performance theatre at Mount Royal College, Second City Toronto Conservatory, IO Chicago’s summer intensive and many other training programs/facility’s. Aaron has performed on stages across North America. During quarantine Aaron has been getting fat. Aarons sponsor is Sugar.”
Covid-19 & The Grindstone Comedy Festival-
The Grindstone Comedy Festival is operating under the guidance of Alberta Health Services and Phase 3 of the Open for Summer Plan. We are encouraging all guests to wear masks; however we will follow the guidance of Alberta Health and the City of Edmonton regarding mandatory masks. We have increased the cleaning and sanitizing protocols and practices in our bistro, theatre, and backstage spaces.
