Description
RON PEDERSON is an award winning actor and improviser and a director and writer. Ron has worked across Canada with theatres including; 2 Seasons at The Stratford Festival, Soulpepper Theatre, Tarragon Theatre, The Canadian Stage Company, The Coal Mine Theatre, The Royal Manitoba Theatre Center, Alberta Theatre Projects, Arts Club Theatre, Vancouver Playhouse, and Theatre Passè Murille. As an acclaimed improviser Ron has created with companies in cities around the world including Oslo, Berlin, Vienna, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and in NYC and Toronto. Ron may be best known for his 3 seasons writing and performing on MADtv (FOX). Other TV credits include writing and performing The Late Late Show (CBS) Murdoch Mysteries, Insecurity (CBC), Degrassi (CTV),SideKick (YTV) The Next Step (NBC Kids) New Eden (Crave) Private Eyes (Global). He's is a multiple Canadian Comedy Award Winner including; Best Improviser, the recipient of the RBC Arts Professional Award, 2 Sterling Awards, The Summerworks Performance Award, and Toronto's Dora Mavor Moore Award.
MARK MEER is a founding member of Gordon's Big Bald Head and a longtime member of Rapid Fire Theatre, Atomic Improv, and Die-Nasty: The Improvised Soap Opera. Mark is a creator, writer, and star of the award-winning TV series Tiny Plastic Men (all four seasons now available on Amazon Prime!) and was a writer and cast member on APTN's CAUTION: May Contain Nuts and CBC Radio's hit national sketch comedy program, The Irrelevant Show. Mark has been nominated for multiple Canadian Comedy Awards and a Canadian Screen Award and is the recipient of both an AMPIA Award for his acting work on Tiny Plastic Men and the Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role. Mark is known worldwide for his voice work in video games, including the lead role of Commander Shepard in Bioware's Mass Effect Trilogy, William MacKenzie in Hinterland Studio's The Long Dark, and multiple roles in the Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age game series. His most recent stage work includes his one-man show Fear and Loathing and Lovecraft, which he adapted from the Brian Keene/Nick Mamatas novel The Damned Highway: Fear and Loathing in Arkham. Mark is pleased to announce he will be the voice of the upcoming audio version of the original novel... coming soon!

The Grindstone Comedy Festival is operating under the guidance of Alberta Health Services and Phase 3 of the Open for Summer Plan. We are encouraging all guests to wear masks; however we will follow the guidance of Alberta Health and the City of Edmonton regarding mandatory masks. We have increased the cleaning and sanitizing protocols and practices in our bistro, theatre, and backstage spaces.
