Enjoy a summer evening with us on Saturday, August 8, as we laugh the night away with our outdoor comedy series under the Big Tent at Quayle’s Brewery. It’s the perfect excuse to have a night out with friends and family, grab a pint, and settle in for a night of great laughs under our Big Tent in the hop fields. 

Headliner:

Laurie Elliott is a stand-up comic, actor and television writer. She is a winner of the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award and is a four-time winner of Best Female Stand Up at The Canadian Comedy Awards. Her stand-up credits include the Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival (where she was chosen by the late, great Joan Rivers to perform on her final Gala show), the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, the Comedy Factory in Rotterdam, Raw Comedy Club in Stockholm, the SheDot Comedy Festival in Toronto, and a gala run at the Cape Town International Comedy Festival in South Africa. She has had recurring roles/appearances on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial, CBC’s The Red Green Show (she married Harold!), The Jon Dore Television Show, Match Game and The Debaters. Laurie’s voice can be heard on many animated series such as Total Drama Island, Scaredy Squirrel, and Camp Lakebottom. Laurie was also a regular on WWF star Chris Jericho’s award winning web series, But I’m Chris Jericho. Writing credits include five seasons of the Total Drama Series, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Rocket Monkeys, Camp Lakebottom, Fugget About It, Showcase’s Almost Heroes, Disney’s My Babysitter’s a Vampire, Hulu’s original series Mother Up starring Eva Longoria. Laurie is currently co-show running a series for YTV called, The Three Amigonauts. Laurie recently opened for the hilarious Arsenio Hall and he was a delight!

George Rivard was adopted from Sierra Leone by Canadian parents and was raised in the Yukon in a community of 30,000 people. Facing adversity as a young black child in a small community, comedy, and entertainment became his main calling. Whether it be breakdancing, music, acting, cooking, entertaining, or just making his friends laugh, George has been performing for 13 years, finding his stride within the last 10 years in Toronto. George has recently recorded with Just for Laughs originals, and Underground Comedy Railroad for Comedy Records. He is a regular comic at Comedy Bar, Corner Comedy Club, and Absolute Comedy Club. George is also no stranger to appearing in Indie  films and sketch comedy projects. Relatable, outgoing, and unapologetically Canadian! 

Feature: 

Liam Andres has been performing as a host and stand-up comedian in Toronto for the past seven years.  He has performed across Canada and throughout the Greater Toronto Area at notable venues including Yuk Yuk’s, Comedy Bar, Corner Comedy Club, Massey Hall, and the Royal Cinema. Liam has hosted and performed at comedy clubs, theatres, and private corporate events. His comedy is rooted in autobiographical storytelling, blending personal experiences with absurdist observations and a unique perspective on everyday life.
