Description

This workshop invites participants to listen and collaboratively reflect on land and urban soundscapes through the creative practice of soundmapping.

The workshop will begin at St. Matthew’s Clubhouse and includes guided exercises through Riverdale Park East. Participants will be led through a variety of creative activities in which they will be asked to listen, write, and draw the sounds that we encounter. This workshop will involve soundwalking through the park, with moments to rest, draw, and share reflections with each other.

Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably. We will be sitting in the grass at various points; participants may choose to bring a small mat or blanket to carry with them for sitting.

The workshop is open to all, and we encourage youth participants (16 under) to attend for free with an accompanying guardian. Ideally there will be one guardian to each youth participant, though guardians can register additional youths.

PWYCA $10 to $20 for adults & all youths (under 16) are free. If accompanying a youth, guardians should have a paid ticket for themselves and a ticket for each youth they are accompanying.

All prices inclusive of HST.
