Description

This is your invitation to join us for our second evening event at Campbell River's River City Players for an evening of ocean stories: COEXTINCTION and It's Time to Listen.

We are so excited to have Gloria Pancrazi (Director, COEXTINCTION), Chief Ernest Alfred
(K’wak’Wabalas) (Co-collaborator and Cast, COEXTINCTION), and Megan Hockin-Bennett (Director of Photography, It's Time To Listen) joining us for our post-film speaker panel.

Bring your conservation, wildlife, and filmmaking questions! Take in impactful films from our local region in a community setting. Connect with new friends in the social portions of the night. And learn more about WIld Bus Films—the team behind It's Time to Listen—and the team behind COEXTINCTION, including their ongoing impact work.

COEXTINCTION: "No species goes extinct in isolation". After a mother orca carries her dead calf for 17 days, two filmmakers spring into action, joining Indigenous leaders and scientists making a final attempt to protect the last 73 Southern Resident orcas from extinction.

Canadian Screen Awards Nominee 2022; Rob Stewart Eco Warrior Award VIMFF Winner; Environment Award at International Ocean Film Festival 2022.

It's Time to Listen: During the pandemic, researchers capitalized on a summer without cruise ship traffic to hear how whales respond to a quieter underwater world. Produced by Wild Bus Films and the Hakai Institute.

Best Nature/Wildlife Film at Cannes 2021; Best Documentary Short at Vancouver Independent Film Festival 2021.
