Classical Road to the Junos

Presented by Music on Main and CBC Music

As Vancouver prepares to host the 2025 JUNO Awards, Music on Main and CBC Music join forces for the Classical Road to the Junos.

Hosted by CBC Music's Paolo Pietropaolo, this concert highlights the extraordinary talent and expression of Vancouver's thriving classical music scene, including performances by Dailin Hsieh (zheng), Paolo Bortolussi (flute), Jonathan Lo (cello), and Rachel Iwaasa (piano). Together, they'll share emotionally powerful music inspired by landscape, friendship, stillness, and beauty.

In addition to beloved pieces by J.S. Bach and Arvo Pärt, the concert features three generations of extraordinary Vancouver composers: Jean Coulthard; Jocelyn Morlock; and Saina Khaledi.

In between pieces, CBC Music host Paolo Pietropaolo joins the musicians on stage for conversations about music making.
