Chris White Presents: Old Man Luedecke

Old Man Luedecke (Chris Luedecke) is an entertaining singer-songwriter and two-time Juno Award winner who plays banjo and guitar.  Born in Toronto, he lived in the Yukon before moving to the rural south shore of Nova Scotia.  He won a Juno Award for Traditional Folk Album of the Year for 'Proof of Love' in 2009, and followed up with another Juno Award for 'My Hands Are on Fire and Other Love Songs' in 2010.  His 'Tender Is The Night' album was nominated for a Polaris Prize, and his 'Domestic Eccentric' album won an East Coast Music Award for Album of the Year.  His new album – his eleventh – is entitled 'She Told Me Where To Go'.  His album producers have included Joel Plaskett and bluegrass great Tim O'Brien.  His wide-ranging travels have included six tours of Australia.

Songs like 'I Quit My Job' at the beginning of his career, 'The Early Days' about life with a young family, and dozens of other songs have become favourites among his fans, providing a soundtrack to their own progress through life and touching a rare place of truth and charm in the holiness of the mundane.  His performing style with his easy going humour and storytelling creates a rare space of hopeful and intimate magic.  

In May 2022, Old Man Luedecke was awarded an honorary doctorate from King’s University in Halifax for his cultural contributions.

Old Man Luedecke (Chris Luedecke) est un auteur-compositeur-interprète divertissant, deux fois lauréat d'un prix Juno, qui joue du banjo et de la guitare.
