Since wowing our Club at her last appearance, prodigiously talented award-winning Celtic-folk mezzo-soprano, arranger, producer and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, fiddle, mandolin, harp, accordion) Lizzy Hoyt has crossed genres to emerge as a powerhouse classical and opera singer. Opera Canada praised her title role in Purcell’s Dido by noting that her “deeply felt performance infused the entire production with aching humanity.” Awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Governor General for commemorating Canadian veterans and history through music, Lizzy touches hearts and bends ears with whatever she does, as evidenced by the 85,000+ views her performance of Danny Boy has garnered on YouTube.
