Celtic Celebration Featuring The Carroll Sessions

 Join us for an evening  of Celtic Music played by some of the best in the region. There will be a concert from 8pm to 10pm, with a jam to follow, so bring your instruments and get in on the fun.

A blend of traditional and contemporary Irish music energy

Don Fletcher - fiddle

John Henderson - guitar, bouzouki, and vocals

Following the Irish, Cape Breton, Quebecois & Bluegrass styles and attending fiddle contests, many workshops and festivals, Don Fletcher has been part of the Ottawa area fiddle music scene for decades and has been involved with a number of local bands, including The Boxty Band (Irish), Les mots dits Anglais (Quebecois) & The Backslider’s (Bluegrass). Don also teaches fiddle in Stittsville.

John Henderson has a decades long connection with traditional music, as a duo with his partner, Pippa Hall, and in various groups, most recently the folk trio Lost For Words. A singer and multi-instrumentalist on guitar, bouzouki, and clawhammer banjo, he has developed a dynamic accompanying guitar style in Drop D inspired by John Doyle.

Together, they provide a lively repertoire of Irish style fiddle tunes, interspersed with songs and some good humour, influenced mainly by the playing of the great Irish style fiddler, Liz Carroll - thus the name of the duo “The Carroll Sessions”.
