Description

Haiku Writing Workshop

Learn the elegance, simplicity and complex origins of Haiku, the traditional Japanese poetic form that jumped the Pacific to North America at the turn of the 20th century. In this two-hour workshop, writer Zack Beer will discuss the history of Haiku, including its Japanese genesis, its movement to North America and how the style has changed and developed over time. Once you have the poetic form and background understood, you’ll have a chance to practice artistic discipline to produce your own haiku poem and workshop it with the group.
