By Christopher Chen
Directed by MFA Candidate Huirui Zhang

February 12 - 14, 2026 | Bleviss Laboratory Theatre

Synopsis:
“A lie is like a cockroach. Seeing one means there’s a hundred you’re not seeing.”

Xiong Gallery hosts a special exhibition featuring the work of the celebrated Chinese dissident artist Lin Bo. The artist himself is present, recounting his harrowing tale of escape from captivity—a story that has captured the world’s attention through The New Yorker. However, soon, the journalist Joyce receives a critique from an acclaimed professor of Chinese studies, questioning the motive behind Lin Bo’s experience. Has Lin Bo fabricated the truth to shape a larger myth? Welcome to this part immersive theatre, part installation piece, where reality and fantasy blend as our world increasingly embraces ‘post-truth.
