Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival: As You Like It

Outdoor theatre returns this summer, and the Capital Classics Theatre Company are celebrating its 30th anniversary! The centerpiece of the troupe's beloved Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival will be an outdoor staging of As You Like It, one of the Bard's most popular romantic comedies. The production will run Thursdays through Sundays for three weekends, July 29 through August 15, on our beautiful campus grounds.

"So, let's all celebrate together — actors, artists, and audience members — as we gather outdoors and reconnect with nature and each other."
As Connecticut's oldest continuously running outdoor Shakespeare festival, Capital Classics has a 30-year reputation for making Shakespeare accessible and affordable. The Greater Hartford Shakespeare Festival attracts fans who gather each summer with family, friends, and picnic baskets to enjoy outdoor Shakespeare under the stars.

As part of COVID-19 safety protocols, all performances will be held with limited seating. For our outdoor performances masks only need be worn if an individual audience member desires to do so. In the event of rain and we have to move the performance indoors, masks are strongly recommended for all persons.
