Description
Join the Newfoundland and Labrador Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators for an inspiring and insightful networking & professional development session featuring award-winning author and advocate Gemma Hickey.
The evening will begin with a year-end networking reception, featuring appetizers, refreshments, and a cash bar. This year-end event is a chance to connect with fellow professionals and celebrate the year’s accomplishments.
Following the reception, Gemma will take the stage to share about their advocacy that has changed laws, policies and norms at home and throughout the world. From raising awareness for survivors of the Mount Cashel abuse scandal to changing Canadian marriage law, to their efforts to change Catholic church canon, Gemma has a wealth of knowledge to share.
Drawing on their personal journey and work as a powerful voice for marginalized communities, Gemma will explore the key elements of successful advocacy, including building coalitions, navigating challenges, and harnessing the power of storytelling.
Participants will gain valuable insights into the strategies and tactics behind effective campaigns, leaving them empowered to make a difference in their own professional and personal lives.
This session is a must-attend for anyone interested in leadership, justice and creating a lasting, positive impact.
