Description

Calgary Pride celebrates with FOREIGNERZ for this year's Annual Pride Gala!

Calgary Pride is thrilled to join forces with FOREIGNERZ, an innovative art and production house that pushes boundaries in film, music, fashion, art, and culture. Comprising a team of diverse and talented artists, FOREIGNERZ is on a mission to create visionary films, creative campaigns, installations, visuals, and music video productions, unearthing new narratives in Canada and beyond.

At this exciting event, aptly titled "WORK," we utilize fashion and the runway as a medium of expression, prompting viewers to contemplate the essence of our contemporary existence. As we navigate a post-pandemic era, driven by the politics of aesthetics and desire, we embody the spirit of hustlers, movers, and shakers, embracing multiple identities simply to survive. WORK delves into the core themes of PRIDE, visibility, survival, power, and the ability to forge a new future through authentic and exuberant connections with our bodies, all while urgently questioning the politics of labor, a culture of optimization, and human worth.

Under the creative direction of Jae Sterling (@jaesterling), WORK will be FOREIGNERZ's second Runway show, presenting a captivating multidisciplinary fashion installation that showcases emerging talent from Alberta's fashion, music, and art realms.

Join us for a transformative experience that celebrates bold stories, uncompromising artistry, and a collective journey towards reimagining what lies ahead!

This accessible gathering aims to meet everyone's needs. Contact accessibility@calgarypride.ca to request accommodations, as Pride is committed to ensuring a welcoming experience for all.

This event takes place on Treaty 7 territory - the traditional and ancestral territory of the Blackfoot Confederacy: Kainai, Piikani and Siksika, as well as the Tsuu T'ina Nation and Stoney Nakoda First Nation.
